Silent Witness Memorial
A tribute to bravery, this memorial is for the 256 members of the 101st Airborne Division Screaming Eagles who lost their lives in 1985 when the DC-8 carrying them home to the U.S. crashed on take-off from Gander.

Thomas Howe Demonstration Forest
Located on the same premises as the Gander International Airport, 2 km off the Trans Canada Highway, the Thomas Howe Demonstration Forest offers picnic facilities, as well as three walking trails. Each trail has unique features including a recreated 1914 logging camp, various forest management practices and pieces of a World War II airplane.
